Dominique Kelley, a key leader on the University of Nebraska's successful women’s basketball team, is passionate about mentorship and leadership. As a teacher and head girls’ basketball coach at Lincoln High School, she was named the 2021 Dr. Barbara Hibner Mentor of the Year by Girls and Women in Sports and Fitness in Lincoln. Kelley, who played at Nebraska from 2007 to 2011, started 109 consecutive games and was a standout guard, earning All-Big 12 honors and leading the Huskers to their first Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2010. She concluded her career with over 1,100 points. After earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Nebraska, she coached at Drake before returning to Lincoln, where her teams achieved a remarkable 88-33 record from 2018 to 2023. In October 2023, Kelley-Johnson became CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Lincoln/Lancaster County, continuing her dedication to empowering youth in her community.
